A 47-year-old man was arrested shortly after police received reports on July 2 that he had allegedly forced his way into a woman’s apartment, doused her in flammable liquid, and set her ablaze.

The Attack and Immediate Response
The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 2, shortly after 5:00 PM. The 39-year-old victim called for help herself, reporting that an acquaintance had forced entry into her home and attacked her with a flammable substance.
Emergency services arrived at the scene, and the victim was transported to the hospital with extensive burns. The entire apartment building was placed at risk, leading to the evacuation of over 20 residents, none of whom were injured.
Medical Status of the Victim
The victim remains conscious and is currently under care at the Burn Treatment Center in Siemianowice Śląskie. She has sustained second and third-degree burns covering over 20 percent of her body, as well as damage to her respiratory tract.
Medical professionals state that the woman faces a long recovery process aimed at achieving the best possible functional and aesthetic results for her scarring.
Suspect in Police Custody
Police apprehended the 47-year-old suspect less than an hour after the incident. The man sustained injuries during the event and is currently hospitalized under police guard in a separate facility from the victim.
Law enforcement and the prosecutor’s office are currently gathering evidence to determine the exact circumstances of the attack. The specific charges filed against the suspect will depend on the findings of the investigation. According to reports, the suspect has a prior criminal record for assault.
