Man Trapped Under Metro Train at Wilanowska Station

A man is in the hospital after falling onto the tracks and ending up under a train at Warsaw’s Wilanowska metro station on Line M1 at 2:06 PM today.

Incident at Wilanowska Station

Emergency services responded to a serious accident at the Wilanowska metro station on Line M1. For reasons yet to be determined, a man fell onto the tracks directly in front of an approaching train and ended up beneath the midpoint of the carriage.

Police, firefighters, and medical rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. The victim was successfully recovered from the tracks and transported to a hospital with bodily injuries.

Investigation and Operational Impact

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident, including whether any third parties were involved. Investigators are analyzing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses.

The accident has severely disrupted Metro Line 1 operations. Trains are currently unable to run the full route and are instead operating in two separate loops: Kabaty to Stokłosy and Politechnika to Młociny.

Alternative Transit Arrangements

Public transport authorities have initiated emergency measures to assist commuters. Substitute bus services marked “ZA METRO” are being deployed to cover the route between Metro Stokłosy and Metro Politechnika via Wilanowska.

Additionally, a dedicated “ZA METRO” tram line has been launched, connecting Metro Wilanowska to Pl. Narutowicza via Puławska, Rakowiecka, and Al. Niepodległości. Passengers are urged to follow station announcements and remain cautious on platforms.
