Fire Outbreak and Emergency Response
The fire broke out on Sunday, June 21, at approximately 1:00 PM at an aerosol manufacturing facility in Charnowo. Thick, visible smoke covers the area, and while the exact cause of the blaze remains unknown, there have been no reports of injuries so far.
Witnesses report the roof is engulfed in flames, with debris falling and threatening nearby structures. Currently, 32 fire brigades are battling the blaze, with operations complicated by extreme heat and the combustible nature of materials stored on-site.
Public Safety and Evacuations
Authorities have ordered the evacuation of all residents within a 200-meter radius of the factory. Plant employees were also safely removed from the premises.
Local officials have urged residents to remain indoors, keep windows and doors sealed, and deactivate mechanical ventilation systems to avoid potential exposure to hazardous airborne substances released by the fire.
Containment Challenges
Captain Piotr Basarab, press officer for the Municipal State Fire Service in Słupsk, confirmed that the production of pressurized containers creates a significant risk of further explosions. The incident has mobilized emergency resources from across the Słupsk district and the wider voivodeship.
Specialized chemical units are on-site to monitor the situation, and drone teams are being utilized to assist in the ongoing firefighting efforts.
