Chaos Across Brwinów
A severe storm cell passing over Brwinów in Pruszków County has triggered dozens of emergency calls. Firefighters are responding to flooded streets and properties, collapsed trees, and damaged infrastructure, with the most severe damage reported on Powstańców Warszawy, Piłsudskiego, and Biskupickiej streets.
Strong winds and heavy rain have toppled trees onto roads, buildings, and power lines. Many areas remain inaccessible due to standing water, and local volunteer fire units are currently pumping out water and clearing debris to restore safety.
Traffic and Infrastructure Disruptions
The underpass beneath the railway tracks in central Brwinów is flooded and impassable for standard passenger cars, leaving access restricted to heavy-duty and high-clearance vehicles. Emergency teams have already recovered one vehicle trapped by the water in the tunnel.
Conditions on the A2 motorway were equally difficult, where intense rainfall severely reduced visibility, forcing drivers to proceed with extreme caution at significantly reduced speeds.
Cleanup Operations Underway
Cleanup efforts are ongoing on Piłsudskiego and Sienkiewicza streets, where crews are removing fallen branches from roadways, property fences, and utility lines using ladders and lifts. No injuries have been reported, and operations are focused on securing power and telecommunication lines while restoring road access.
