Mateusz Morawiecki announced the event via social media on July 9, inviting attendees to discuss the future of Poland, including the economy, security, and local governance. He stated that the initiative aims to build a proud, strong Poland and encouraged citizens to join the effort.

Błaszczak’s Criticism and Exclusion

Mariusz Błaszczak, head of the Law and Justice parliamentary club, expressed his dissatisfaction with the initiative, noting that he was not invited. He also argued that Morawiecki’s association, “Rozwój Plus,” does not function as a think tank and suggested that party members had previously agreed to self-imposed limitations on such activities.

Tensions Over Party Dynamics

The disagreement follows an interview where Morawiecki alleged that “small people” within his party attempted to intimidate his association members. Błaszczak dismissed these remarks as a form of party-specific “oikophobia,” stating that if that is how Morawiecki feels, it reflects his personal perspective.

Focusing on Current Government Failures

Błaszczak further criticized the event on RMF FM, arguing that focusing on a barbecue is inappropriate while the current government under Donald Tusk and the administration of the Mayor of Warsaw are facing controversy. He suggested that such internal distractions undermine the opposition’s response to the current ruling coalition.
