Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft approximately 30 kilometers off the coast of Ustka, marking a rare attempt by Moscow to approach Poland’s maritime border and probe air defense systems.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz confirmed the interception of a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance plane on social media. The aircraft was tracked flying near the town of Ustka before being engaged by Polish military assets.

Following the establishment of contact and clear signals for the aircraft to vacate the area, the Russian plane departed and returned toward Russian territory.
