Detection at the Stryków Toll Plaza
On July 9, officers from the Łódź Border Guard post stopped a truck with Serbian registration plates at the A2 motorway toll collection point in Stryków. The vehicle was traveling toward Poland’s western border when it was flagged for inspection.
Illegal Border Crossing and Nationality of Migrants
During the vehicle inspection, officers discovered 13 foreign nationals concealed within the trailer. The group consisted of six citizens of Pakistan, five of Afghanistan, and two of Bangladesh.
Investigations revealed the driver had transported the individuals from Latvian territory. Although the men possessed documents confirming they had filed for international protection in Latvia, they had crossed the state border into Poland illegally.
Legal Consequences and Readmission
Following the completion of procedural activities, the 13 foreign nationals will be transferred to Lithuanian authorities under a simplified readmission agreement. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the Serbian truck driver.
