The Investigation and Arrests
On June 16, 2026, agents from the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) in Warsaw, acting under the direction of the National Prosecutor’s Office, apprehended seven individuals in the Masovian Voivodeship. The detainees include three company employees and four contractors who provided services to PESA, including a former soldier.
Officers secured extensive documentation and electronic equipment during searches conducted at the suspects’ residences, workplaces, and the PESA Mińsk Mazowiecki headquarters.
Scope of the Criminal Network
The investigation uncovered a corruption scheme operating between December 2019 and January 2024. Management-level employees allegedly accepted financial benefits in exchange for leaking confidential information to contractors regarding tender proceedings and directly influencing their outcomes.
The probe concerns over 1,150 public orders with a total value exceeding 28.5 million PLN. The suspects have been charged under Article 296a of the Penal Code regarding commercial bribery.
Legal Status and Ongoing Proceedings
Prosecutors have imposed preventative measures, including financial guarantees, police supervision, and contact prohibitions. Several suspects have admitted to the charges, and authorities indicate that the case is ongoing with further procedural actions planned.
The CBA has reminded the public of the non-punishability clause for commercial bribery, encouraging anyone with relevant information to report to the Warsaw delegation of the CBA.
