Urgent Reforms Needed for RCB Alerts
The Deputy Minister of National Defence stressed that the system for activating alarm sirens in Poland requires urgent improvement. Minister Sobkowiak-Czarnecka added that citizens, particularly those residing in border regions, may soon receive more SMS notifications concerning military aviation activity. She questioned whether authorities should increase text message alerts regarding the scrambling of fighter jets, mirroring current online communications.
Romanowski in Transnistria Defies Belief
Addressing reports that former Deputy Justice Minister Marcin Romanowski is staying in Transnistria, Sobkowiak-Czarnecka admitted she initially thought it was an April Fool’s joke. She noted that it is entirely unbelievable for a former deputy justice minister to hide in Russian-controlled territory. The Deputy Minister stated that such an operation could not have occurred without the involvement of Russian services, especially since Romanowski reportedly used a new identity and documents. She called the situation an absolute scandal, marking another individual from Zbigniew Ziobro’s camp who has returned to the fold to cooperate with the Russian Federation.
Chinese Robot in Navy Promotional Video
The Deputy Minister of National Defence also criticized the use of the Chinese robot “Edward Warchocki” in a promotional recording by the Polish Navy. She assessed that the desire for fame and Instagram attention likely triumphed over common sense. When asked if she could imagine a robot manufactured in a NATO country appearing in a Chinese naval port, she replied that it is a major problem how global society frequently abandons common sense for modern technological novelties.
Record-Breaking Military Procurement
The discussion also covered the military parade scheduled for Saturday, August 15. Sobkowiak-Czarnecka argued that it was easy to find a slogan for the parade superior to “Polska Safe” given that the nation made its largest acquisitions for the armed forces this year. By the end of May, 120 billion zlotys had been contracted with Polish companies, representing an unprecedented pace of modernization.
