Brutal Stabbing During Local Festivities
A brutal attack took place on Friday, August 7, in the evening on Ksi臋cia Bolka Street in Kamienna G贸ra, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. A few hundred meters from the reservoir where the Kamienna G贸ra Days celebrations were underway, a 15-year-old boy was stabbed. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors are still fighting for his life.
Initially, the police conducted a manhunt for an unknown perpetrator, and services urged residents to exercise caution. Before 10:00 PM on Friday, officers detained two 16-year-olds who could be connected to the incident.
Police Detainments and Legal Proceedings
One of the teenagers, who police stated did not take direct part in the incident, was released after investigative procedures were completed. Meanwhile, the second teenager remains in a police juvenile shelter. As reported on Saturday, his statements are covered by investigative secrecy. Junior Aspirant Katarzyna Trzepak stated that the materials will be forwarded to the family court, which will decide whether the young man will be tried for the committed act as a minor or as an adult.
Ministry Denies Social Media Disinformation
Following the attack, misleading reports began appearing on social media claiming that the perpetrator was Ukrainian. Ministry of Interior and Administration spokesperson Karolina Ga艂ecka dismissed the claims as a lie, stating that the attacker and the victim are both Polish citizens, and urged the public to verify facts through reliable sources.
The spokesperson further wrote on the X platform that spreading such messages is nothing other than Russian disinformation aimed at inciting discord between Poles and Ukrainians, as well as stirring fear and hatred by exploiting basic human instincts. Edited by Jan Lata艂a.
