Two 16-Year-Olds Arrested in Warsaw for Brutal Robbery and Assault over 50 PLN

Warsaw police arrested two 16-year-olds who beat a man in the street, stole 50 PLN from his wallet, assaulted a bystander, and resisted arrest before being placed in a juvenile detention center.

Police Respond to Reports of Brutal Assault in Wola

Police officers from Warsaw’s Wola district were notified about the beating of a man. Two attackers initially struck the victim in the face with their fists.

“When the victim managed to break free, the perpetrators attacked again, kicked him in the head with a knee and struck him with their fists, until they finally took cash from the victim’s wallet,” describes Supt. Marta Sulowska from the Wola police. She adds that the perpetrators took 50 PLN from the victim.

Bystander Attacked and Medical Transport Ordered

One of the passersby reacted to the aggressive behavior of the perpetrators. He was also attacked and struck in the head with a fist. After a moment, the same attacker struck again, while his companion provoked the beating. Following the brutal incident, both fled.

An emergency medical rescue team transported the beaten man to the hospital. At the same time, Wola police officers established the appearance of the attackers and launched a search.

High-Speed Chase and Arrest

Shortly thereafter, police officers spotted two young men matching the description. “At the sight of the marked patrol car, the teenagers bolted. After a chase lasting several hundred meters, they were overpowered and detained, actively and passively resisting until the end,” reports Supt. Sulowska.

As it turned out, both aggressors were 16 years old. They were transported to the precinct, and the materials gathered by officers, along with a request to apply a temporary measure against the juveniles, were forwarded to the family court.

Hooligan Charges and Juvenile Detention

The teenagers will face charges for attempted robbery, robbery, bodily harm, and violation of bodily integrity. Because they acted in a public place, without reason, and with blatant disregard for legal order, their acts were classified as hooliganism. The family court decided to place both 16-year-olds in a juvenile shelter for three months.
