Toyota Crashes into Moped in Wola: 35-Year-Old Hospitalized with Broken Arm

A collision between a Toyota and a moped at a major intersection in Warsaw’s Wola district on Tuesday left a 35-year-old food delivery worker hospitalized with a broken arm.

Collision at the Intersection of Solidarności and Okopowa

On Tuesday, August 11, at around 11:41 AM, a collision occurred between a Toyota and a scooter-type moped at the intersection of aleja Solidarności and Okopowa Street in Warsaw. The 35-year-old rider of the two-wheeler was injured and taken to the hospital, with the 36-year-old female car driver held responsible for causing the accident.

The incident took place at one of the main intersections in Wola. According to findings regarding the course of the crash, the 36-year-old woman driving the Toyota was traveling along aleja Solidarności from the direction of aleja Prymasa Tysiąclecia.

Failure to Yield Right of Way

At the intersection, the driver began a left turn onto Okopowa Street toward Radosław Roundabout. During this maneuver, she failed to yield the right-of-way to the moped traveling along aleja Solidarności, which was being ridden by a 35-year-old citizen of Turkmenistan working as a food delivery courier.

The two vehicles collided, leaving the scooter rider injured with a broken arm and general bruises. After receiving aid at the scene, he was transported to the hospital.

Police Investigation and Traffic Disruptions

Police officers conducted further activities at the scene. Law enforcement officials performed photographic documentation and measurements of the incident site, which are necessary to accurately document its course.

During the emergency services’ operations, traffic passage through the intersection of aleja Solidarności and Okopowa was partially blocked, causing disruptions for drivers.
