Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk revealed that security services thwarted a Russian-ordered assassination plot against a dual-citizen target in Warsaw, marking a first for a NATO territory.

Thwarted Assassination Plot in Warsaw

The arrest took place on August 7, targeting an individual holding two passports who was deemed inconvenient by Putin’s regime. Prime Minister Donald Tusk disclosed that thanks to a joint operation by the Internal Security Agency (ABW) and the police, the execution and attack were prevented at the very last moment.

Tusk emphasized that this is the first time someone acting on Russian orders decided to launch an assassination attempt against an American citizen on the territory of another NATO country, specifically in Poland, in Warsaw. The Prime Minister stated that they avoided the worst, while warning that Putin’s regime will attempt to eliminate inconvenient individuals for various reasons.

Putin Threatens the West Over Shadow Fleet

In response to European actions against the Russian shadow fleet, Moscow accused the West of piracy and looting. Vladimir Putin announced that his forces will seize the ships of other nations wherever deemed necessary.

Putin stressed that Russia has noted attempts to restrict the movement of Russian vessels, characterizing potential seizures of their ships and property as piracy and looting. The Russian leader warned that if this happens, Russia will retaliate, potentially in the zone of responsibility of the Pacific Fleet or wherever deemed necessary or reasonable.
