Tusk on Romanowski: Something Very Bad Must Be Happening in His Head

During a Thursday press conference, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the situation of wanted former deputy minister Marcin Romanowski, questioning his alleged choice of refuge in Transnistria.

Comments on Romanowski’s Alleged Whereabouts

During a press conference on Thursday, August 13, Donald Tusk was asked about Marcin Romanowski, who is wanted in connection with irregularities in the Justice Fund. The head of government stated that it would be convenient to simply say he believes the attorney or Romanowski and believes he is in Transnistria, even though it sounds improbable.

Questions Regarding Russian-Controlled Territory

Tusk pointed out that the public is baffled by how a Polish government official under Ziobro, who constantly spoke of patriotism and the white-and-red flag, could hide in a corner that is de facto largely under Russian control. He added that he does not know if it is true, but something very bad must be happening in Romanowski’s head if he sought refuge there or claims to be there.

Cooperation with Moldovan Authorities and Trust Issues

The Prime Minister announced that the Polish government is cooperating with the authorities of Moldova to check and act upon any information confirming Romanowski’s whereabouts. However, he noted that neither Romanowski nor his attorney are trustworthy, concluding that looking at what these people are doing, every darkest scenario is possible.
