Poland 2050 Electoral Commission Head Resigns Amid Vote Cancellation

Maurycy Przyrowski, head of Poland 2050’s National Electoral Commission, has resigned for personal reasons.

Head of Electoral Commission Resigns

Chairman of the National Electoral Commission Maurycy Przyrowski resigned for personal reasons. The Party Board thanks the outgoing Chairman, emphasizing that it highly values his professionalism and substantive work in elections for Party Chairman Szymon Hołownia.

Maurycy Przyrowski is the director of the Poland 2050 parliamentary club office. In the previous term, he cooperated with the party’s parliamentary circle. Previously, he worked in the offices of MPs Hanna Gill-Piątek and Paweł Zalewski.

Party Elections Canceled

On Sunday, Poland 2050 conducted the second round of online elections for the party chair. Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz and Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kłoska competed for this position.

However, the voting was invalidated. “In the voting process, a significantly larger number of votes were cast than the number of party members entitled to vote,” stated Poland 2050 in a communiqué. The party announced it will file a report with the prosecutor’s office.

“As Poland 2050, we are to blame ourselves – because it was we who chose this and no other way to conduct the elections. I won’t even mention sharing photos, videos and links out of courtesy. But SOMEONE made these unauthorized logins,” commented on the X platform by Deputy Minister of Digitization Michał Gramatyka.

National Council to Meet

On Friday afternoon, the National Council of Poland 2050 will also take place online.

“The National Council will decide how the electoral process will be continued: on the one hand as quickly as possible, on the other hand in a way that is fully safe for the organization and its members. Safety and credibility of the process are our absolute priority,” the group informed this week.
