The footage was released by the Russian station 78 Nowostitz, and a fragment was later posted by former Ukrainian Deputy Interior Minister Anton Heraszczenko, who described the event as “the most serious security incident of its kind in many years.”
Ambassador Denies Terrorist Charge and Urges Police
During the attack, a protester in the crowd shouted, “Call police on yourself, terrorist.” Krajewski calmly replied, “We must call the police.” The ambassador was subsequently labeled a “terrorist” in circulating reports.
Political Context and Protest Messages
Protest signs carried the slogan “When you and your authorities stop sponsoring and arming Ukraine.” Krajewski told Polish Radio that similar incidents often occur when he travels outside Moscow to meet the Polish diaspora or visit memorial sites, describing the activists as “duty activists” who portray themselves as defenders of the Russian Federation.
