Warsaw police units arrested three Turkish nationals in Pruszków, seizing nearly 25 million zlotys of counterfeit cosmetics and cash, facing up to five years in prison.
Three Turkish Nationals Arrested
The Warsaw Anti-Crime Unit detained 26‑, 62‑year‑old and another 42‑year‑old Turkish citizen in Pruszków district. They admitted no possession of prohibited goods.
Upon entering the storage site, officers uncovered a stockpile of counterfeit cosmetics.
First Capture Reveals 10,000 Fake Perfumes
Police seized almost 10,000 bottles of perfume stamped with illegally reproduced trademarks of major global brands.
The value of the seized items was estimated at roughly 5 million zlotys by affected companies.
Second Arrest Uncovers 16,000 Counterfeit Cosmetics
A 42‑year‑old Turkish national was detained the following day at a separate property.
Officers found nearly 16,000 units of cosmetics—including powders, creams, lipsticks, foundations and sets—bearing counterfeit trademarks of well‑known brands.
The damage to the brands was calculated at about 20 million zlotys.
Charges and Penalties
All three suspects face charges under Article 305 of the Industrial Property Law, for placing counterfeit trademarked goods on the market.
They could be sentenced to up to five years of imprisonment.
Case Handled by Pruszków Prosecutor’s Office
The proceedings are being pursued by the Pruszków District Prosecutor’s Office.
