The accident involving the Polish tourist occurred on Friday evening, September 5, on the Nago Vecchia road leading towards Torbole near Lake Garda in the Italian province of Trento.
Cause and Circumstances
According to preliminary investigations, the female tourist was on vacation in Italy and had gone for a cycling excursion with friends that day. Around 7 PM, while descending the final slope on her planned route, she likely lost control of her bicycle on a sharp curve just beyond the traffic lights, striking a wall.
Response and Consequences
Her 52-year-old friends called for emergency services. A medical rescue team from Trentino Emergenza, firefighters from Riva del Garda, local police, and carabinieri arrived at the scene. Despite the efforts of the medical team and subsequent resuscitation attempts, the Polish tourist died in the hospital. The woman suffered chest and head injuries.
