A November 2025 online survey found 59.4% of respondents dismiss former agriculture minister Robert Telus’ claims about a land sale in Zabłotnia that could impact the Central Communication Port, while only 15.7% believe him.
Survey Results
The CAWI survey, conducted on 4–5 November 2025 by SWResearch for Onet, included 828 Polish adults via the SW panel network. Five hundred and eleven participants (59.4%) answered “no” to trusting Telus’ explanation, 130 (15.7%) said “yes,” and 206 (24.9%) chose “hard to say.”
Telus’s Statement
In a Sunday press release, Telus declared that he possessed no knowledge of the sale of parcel 87/1 in Zabłotnia, noting that his signature is absent from related documents and the matter had never reached his desk. He added that, contrary to earlier claims, the property does not lie within the proposed CPK area but is more than six kilometres away.
Telus further argued that should any portion of the land be required for auxiliary CPK infrastructure, such as railway tracks, the sale agreement and land registry records allow for immediate reacquisition without loss to the Treasury. He criticized the current government’s handling of the issue, accusing the administration and its coalition of deliberately obstructing the CPK project.
Internal Party Review
PiS Vice President Tobiasz Bocheński announced that the party has formed a dedicated team, led by Elżbieta Witek, to investigate the land sale affair. Telus will be questioned by the internal discipline committee and is expected to submit a formal statement. Decisions regarding his standing within PiS will depend on Witek’s assessment.
