The PROTEGA 2026 trade fair, scheduled for May 20-21, 2026 in Poznań, will focus on bolstering Poland’s civil defense and crisis response capabilities.
PROTEGA 2026: A Growing Initiative
The Group MTP is organizing the PROTEGA 2026 trade fair for Population Protection and Civil Defense, recognizing the increasing geopolitical instability and associated security challenges. Director Dagmara Suprun highlights the event as a crucial space for integrating the entire security community and addressing real market needs.
The second edition of the fair will be held on May 20th and 21st, 2026, in Poznań. Following a successful inaugural event in 2025, organizers have observed significant demand for a platform fostering collaboration across sectors.
First Edition Success & Key Participants
The premiere edition of PROTEGA was instrumental in bringing together representatives from administration, services, science, and business. The level of discussion was particularly valuable, characterized by its substantive nature, focus on cooperation, and practical exchange of experiences.
Expected Attendance and International Interest
Organizers anticipate a substantial increase in both exhibitors and attendees this year, projecting around 100 exhibitors and several thousand visitors. Notably, there is growing interest from international partners, including Germany, Switzerland, and Scandinavian countries, demonstrating the widespread relevance of population protection and national resilience.
The Genesis of PROTEGA
The impetus for PROTEGA stemmed from observing the need for effective crisis response systems and inter-agency cooperation. The Group MTP, leveraging its experience in creating dialogue platforms for various industries, views PROTEGA as a natural extension – an event uniting business, administration, and services around the core goal of strengthening security and building national resilience.
Target Audience and Stakeholder Engagement
The fair aims to bring together all stakeholders in the security system, including public administration, emergency services, the military, and companies providing relevant technologies and solutions. Special emphasis is placed on the involvement of local government units, which are often the first responders in crisis situations.
Improvements for the 2026 Edition
The second edition of PROTEGA will benefit from lessons learned and feedback from the previous year. Organizers are expanding both the exhibition space and the professional program, incorporating higher quality content. A key component will be the II National Scientific and Technical Congress PROTEGA 2026 – Population Protection and Civil Defense, focusing on practical implementation recommendations.
Priorities for a Successful Event
While many factors contribute to the success of PROTEGA, the quality of discussions and the provision of concrete knowledge to participants are paramount. The event strives to create a valuable experience where theory meets practice through case studies, workshops, and presentations of real-world implementations.
The Role of Trade Fairs in a Digital Age
Trade fairs remain essential, offering direct contact, the opportunity to see technologies firsthand, and conversations with the people behind the solutions – elements that cannot be fully replicated online. The Group MTP hosts hundreds of thousands of participants and thousands of companies annually at security-related events, often leading to concrete contracts.
PROTEGA’s Importance to the Group MTP
PROTEGA is a key development project for the Group MTP, possessing not only business value but also broader societal and strategic significance. The event is experiencing rapid growth and has the potential to become a leading forum for population protection and civil defense.
Future Plans for PROTEGA
The Group MTP is committed to the long-term development of PROTEGA, contingent on continued interest from stakeholders. The 2027 edition is already confirmed, scheduled to take place at the Poznań International Fairgrounds.
II National Scientific and Technical Congress PROTEGA 2026
The “II National Scientific and Technical Congress PROTEGA 2026 – Population Protection and Civil Defense in the dimension of practical implementation recommendations” will be a significant element of the PROTEGA 2026 fair. This specialized event is designed for experts in population protection, civil defense, crisis management, and rescue services.
The Congress aims to address the challenges faced by entities, authorities, and businesses in implementing the population protection and civil defense system in Poland. Experts will share their knowledge on topics such as the challenges and development directions of Population Protection and Civil Defense (OLiOC) in Poland, and the planning, design, and construction of Collective Protection Facilities.
