Repeat Offender Arrested After Vandalism Spree in Otwock

Following a series of hooligan-motivated property crimes in mid-May, a repeat offender was apprehended in Warsaw and remanded into custody for three months after a vigilant bus driver alerted authorities.

Vandalism in Otwock County

In mid-May, two separate acts of hooliganism occurred in Otwock County on the same night. An unidentified perpetrator shattered the storefront window of a local photography shop and destroyed the window of a bus.

Investigation and Pursuit

Otwock investigators immediately launched an inquiry, securing evidence and analyzing leads to identify the suspect. Police determined the individual frequently traveled via public transport toward Warsaw.

The Arrest

The breakthrough occurred in Warsaw when a bus driver recognized the man from the police description and contacted emergency services. Officers from the Warsaw Railway Police Station responded quickly and took the suspect into custody.

Charges and Prosecution

The suspect was transferred to the Otwock police headquarters. Following an analysis of the evidence by investigators and the District Prosecutor’s Office in Otwock, the man was charged with two counts of hooligan-motivated property damage.

Judicial Decision

The suspect confessed to the crimes. Given the nature of the offenses, his history of similar convictions, lack of a permanent address, and prior status as a wanted person, the court granted the prosecutor’s request for a three-month pre-trial detention. The defendant now faces a significant prison sentence.
