Search Operation Underway on Warta River Following Reported Incident

Emergency services are searching the Warta River in Poznań after a highly intoxicated woman claimed three others entered the water with her during the night, though no evidence was found.

Police investigation following erratic report

Sub-inspector Łukasz Paterski of the Poznań City Police headquarters confirmed that officers received a report after 5:00 a.m. from a woman who claimed to have entered the Warta River several hours earlier. Police located the woman at her home; she was found with a blood alcohol level exceeding two per mille. Due to reported suicidal ideation, she was transported to a hospital.

Concerns over potential missing persons

The woman claimed she had convinced three other individuals, who were camping by the river, to enter the water with her. Despite the improbability of this claim given the rainy weather, police searched the vicinity of Szelągowski Park. Officers found no signs of human presence or abandoned personal belongings at the site.

Ongoing water rescue operation

Despite the lack of physical evidence, authorities are continuing to search the Warta River to rule out any risk to the lives of the three allegedly involved individuals. Several firefighting units and water rescue teams are currently involved in the operation. This text is being updated.
