A chain-reaction collision involving six cars on the S2 route near the Opacz interchange caused several hours of traffic delays on April 1st.
Initial Collision and Chain Reaction
On Wednesday, April 1st, at 6:25 PM, a series of collisions involving six vehicles traveling towards Puławska Street occurred on the S2 route near the Opacz interchange. The incident was recorded as four separate collisions, with traffic disruptions lasting until approximately 9:00 PM.
The initial collision involved a Skoda striking an Opel. Shortly after, an Audi collided with the rear of the Opel, and a Porsche then hit the back of the Audi.
Further Impacts and Total Vehicles Involved
A Renault driver managed to brake in time to avoid further impact, but a Mercedes subsequently collided with the rear of the Renault. This brought the total number of vehicles involved to six, categorized as four separate collisions.
No Injuries Reported
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. All drivers were confirmed to be sober and possessed valid driving licenses.
Traffic Disruption and Response
Traffic congestion persisted on the S2 route in the Opacz interchange area towards Terespol until around 9:00 PM. Drivers experienced slowed traffic and congestion on this section of the route.
Emergency services were on scene to manage the situation and clear the roadway. The scale of the collisions and the number of damaged vehicles contributed to the prolonged traffic delays.
