Two Buses Carrying Students Collide on A4 Motorway Near Mysłowice

A collision involving two buses transporting 96 people, including 83 students, occurred on the A4 motorway near Mysłowice before 10 a.m. today, prompting a swift response from emergency services and medical teams.

Details of the Collision

The accident occurred before 10 a.m. on the A4 motorway, just before the exit to Mysłowice. According to Junior Brigadier Wojciech Chojnowski of the Mysłowice Fire Department, the incident involved one bus rear-ending another while both were transporting school groups.

Passengers and Medical Response

In total, 96 individuals were on board the two vehicles, including 83 children, as well as drivers and adult chaperones. All passengers underwent medical evaluations at the scene. One driver was subsequently transported to a hospital in Ochojec, while two children were taken to a medical facility in Jaworzna.

Trip Destinations and Traffic Impact

The passengers, consisting of students aged 15-16, were traveling on two separate school trips: one from Alwernia to Ruda Śląska and another from Tarnów to London. After the assessment, the remaining passengers continued their journeys on replacement buses.

Clearance of the Motorway

Traffic on the A4 toward Katowice was restricted to the emergency lane following the crash. According to the Provincial Police Headquarters in Katowice, normal traffic flow on the motorway was fully restored by approximately 1:00 p.m.
