Two police officers from Greater Poland were detained on Wednesday, 5 November, after the Gniezno County Police commander was notified of the arrest by the Poznan District Prosecutor’s Office.

Detainment of Patrol Police

On Wednesday (5 November), the Gniezno County Police commander was informed that a female officer from his unit had been arrested by an order of the Poznan District Prosecutor’s Office. The officer is from the traffic police department, according to TVP3 Poznań. A second officer from the Gniezno County Police Headquarters in Szamotuł was also detained. Arrests were conducted off duty and by other units, according to RMF FM junior editor Andrzej Borowiak of the Poznan Provincial Police Headquarters.

Possible Drug Involvement

Investigations by the local broadcaster suggest the case may involve drugs. Similar reports came from the local portal moje‑gniezno.pl and from TVP3 Gdańsk. During a search at the female officer’s residence, the officer and the investigating official discovered a substance resembling methamphetamine. The material was handed over for laboratory testing. “If these are willful crimes, we will consider immediate dismissal of the officers from service,” junior editor Borowiak told the channel.
