Warsaw Bus Fire Disrupts Traffic

A city bus on line 213 caught fire at the intersection of Kadetów and Poprawna streets in Warsaw’s Wawer district around 6:39 a.m.

Around 6:39 a.m., a fire broke out on a city bus of line 213 at the intersection of Kadetów and Poprawna streets in the Wawer district of Warsaw. The fire originated in the engine compartment and quickly spread to the rear of the vehicle.

According to the fire department, no one was injured, and all passengers safely evacuated the bus.

Passengers and Firefighting Efforts

Initial reports indicate that seven people, including the driver, were on board the bus at the time of the incident. Firefighters used two water jets to extinguish the blaze.

Specialized Response and Cleanup

Six fire crews, including a specialized chemical rescue team, were dispatched to the scene. The team pumped fuel from the burned-out bus before it could be towed away.

Traffic Disruption

The incident caused traffic disruptions in the Wawer area. While no injuries were reported, the fire temporarily paralyzed traffic flow near the intersection of Kadetów and Poprawna streets.

Service Interruptions

Warsaw Transport Authority (WTP) reported disruptions to lines 213 and 219 due to the road blockage at the intersection of Kadetów and Poprawna streets. Passengers should expect delays and possible detours.

Lines 213 and 219 are rerouted via Lucerny – Trakt Lubelski – Bronowska – Wał Miedzyszyński – Kadetów – Łaska to resume their routes.
