Świętokrzyska Street in central Warsaw will be closed on Saturday, April 25th, for the 5th Korzeniowski Warsaw Race Walking Cup.
Race Walking Event to Disrupt Traffic
Świętokrzyska Street will once again host a race walking competition. The 5th edition of the Korzeniowski Warsaw Race Walking Cup will take place on Saturday, April 25th, resulting in street closures.
The event will see both amateur and professional athletes competing on a one-kilometer loop, with co-financing and co-organization from the city of Warsaw.
Street Closure Details
Preparations for the event will begin at 5:00 AM on Saturday, April 25th, with Świętokrzyska Street closed between Marszałkowska and Kopernika streets. The intersection with Nowy Świat will remain open, and buses will continue to operate along Trakt Królewski.
Świętokrzyska Street is scheduled to reopen on Saturday at 10:00 PM.
Access to Properties
From Marszałkowska Street, access to Świętokrzyska will be limited to vehicles heading to Jasna Street. Parking will be accessible via Jasna, Boudena, and Plac Powstańców Warszawy. Exiting the area will be via Szpitalna Street and Plac Pięciu Rogów to Aleje Jerozolimskie.
Two-Way Traffic on Side Streets
Moniuszki Street (from Jasna to Plac Powstańców Warszawy), Warecka Street, and Kubusia Puchatka Street (from Baczyńskiego) will allow two-way traffic. Szkolna and Jasna streets (from Rysiej to Świętokrzyska) will also be two-way.
On Tamka Street, vehicles traveling uphill will be restricted to those accessing the children’s hospital and Kopernika Street.
Parking Restrictions
Vehicles parked on Świętokrzyska Street must be moved before the event. Parking will be prohibited between Szkolna and Nowy Świat from 12:01 AM to 10:00 PM, and illegally parked vehicles may be towed.
Traffic Management and Safety
Police will oversee traffic safety at key intersections. Pedestrians will only be allowed to cross the race route at designated locations and times indicated by security personnel.
Bus Route Changes
Bus lines 107 and 178 will operate on altered routes on Saturday. Bus 107, heading towards Esperanto, will turn onto Marszałkowska from Aleje Jerozolimskie. In the direction of Metro Wilanowska, it will turn onto Królewska from Plac Piłsudskiego and continue onto Marszałkowska and Aleje Jerozolimskie. Bus 178 will detour via Marszałkowska and Królewska in both directions.
