Ukrainian President Zelenski plans to sign peace agreement documents during Davos economic forum, with Miami talks on security guarantees set to begin January 17.
Zelenski Wants to Sign Documents on Security Guarantees for Ukraine
On Friday, January 16, Ukrainian President Zelenski met with Czech President Petr Pavel in Kyiv. During their joint press conference, Zelenski stated that the Ukrainian delegation is traveling to the US for talks on security guarantees for Ukraine and a recovery package to be implemented after the war with Russia ends.
Zelenski expressed hope that the documents will be signed during the World Economic Forum in Davos, scheduled for January 19-23.
USA-Ukraine Talks in Miami
Ukraine’s Ambassador to the US, Olha Stefaniszyna, announced on X that Ukrainian-American talks will begin in Miami on Saturday, January 17. The Ukrainian delegation will include National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerow, Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanow, and Davyd Arakhamia, chairman of the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People party founded by Zelenski.

Stefaniszyna informed about the focus of the Miami negotiations. “As emphasized by President Zelenski, we are working on two key documents: agreements on security guarantees and the economic prosperity of Ukraine, which may be signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos,” she wrote. “The purpose of the visit is to finalize these agreements with American partners.”
Ukrainians Want Declaration from US on Russia
Zelenski said that Ukraine also wants to obtain a clear declaration from the US regarding Russia’s position toward actions to end the war. He added that Ukrainians are cooperating well with the US. However, he noted that in some matters, the United States and Ukraine “are simply not on the same side.”
