Ford driver collided with stationary bus on Warsaw’s Wawelska Street Thursday and fled, leaving injured passenger for emergency services.
Collision Details
On Thursday, January 15 around 2:40 PM on Wawelska Street in Warsaw, at number 5 near the Skra sports center, a serious collision occurred between a Ford passenger car heading toward Praga and a municipal bus of line 143, after which the driver fled on foot.
According to initial findings, the driver of the Ford, for reasons still unknown, hit the rear of the line 143 bus, which was at the initial stop. There were no passengers in the municipal vehicle – only the driver was inside.
Witness Accounts and Emergency Response
Witnesses reported that the driver of the Ford did not brake before the collision and hit the rear of the bus at an estimated speed of about 60 km/h. Emergency services were called to the scene: the fire department, police, and a medical rescue team.
Injured Passenger Transported
Firefighters secured the scene of the incident, neutralized operating fluids, and handed over the injured passenger to the medical rescue team. After initial treatment, the woman was taken to the hospital.
Police Investigation
The Metropolitan Police Headquarters reported that the driver of the vehicle left the scene, abandoning the car and the injured passenger. Police officers conducted further proceedings at the scene, including actions to identify the driver of the Ford and the circumstances under which the collision and flight from the scene occurred.
