Tragic BMW Crash in Mąkoline; Two Detained

Two die in Mąkoline BMW crash; three revive, four hospitalized as speed suspected.

Fatal Crash

The incident occurred Monday (March 9) around 19:30 in Mąkoline (Płock County, Mazowieckie Voivodeship). Police preliminarily determined an 18-year-old driver likely lost control of the BMW on a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over.

Besides the driver, four unrestrained passengers were ejected upon impact. A 14-year-old girl, Ola, died despite rescue efforts.

Victims

Three passengers required resuscitation. Four individuals were hospitalized, including two critically airlifted via helicopter. On Tuesday (March 10), a 16-year-old girl reportedly died en route to a Warsaw hospital, though prosecutors did not confirm this. Her school later mourned her on social media before the post was removed.

Investigation

Prosecutor Bartosz Maliszewski confirmed two individuals in the car, including the driver, were detained as their health allowed interrogation. The driver was sober. An autopsy on a victim is scheduled for Tuesday (March 10), and medical documentation for the injured is being collected.

Speed Inquiry

Witnesses claimed the vehicle’s speedometer stopped at 160 km/h. Prosecutors have not yet confirmed who was driving at the time of the crash.
