Trump Relies on Two-Minute Videos for Iran War Intelligence

U.S. officials say Donald Trump receives intelligence on the Iran conflict through brief, edited video clips, alongside traditional briefings.

Trump’s Information Sources

NBC News reported, citing three current and one former U.S. officials, that Trump is being shown short video clips to inform him about the situation in Iran. One source described the videos as a series of scenes featuring “things exploding.”

Informants told NBC News the videos typically last around two minutes, sometimes slightly longer.

Beyond the Videos

Officials noted that Trump also receives updates on Iran during conversations with top military and intelligence advisors, meetings with foreign leaders, and by following press coverage.

Frustration with Media Coverage

NBC News reported that the videos exacerbate Trump’s frustration with how the war is portrayed in the media. Trump reportedly questioned why his administration couldn’t better influence media narratives.

Sources said the president believes the media doesn’t adequately highlight U.S. successes as presented in the videos prepared by the military.

White House Response

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed the report as “absolutely false,” stating it came from someone not present during the discussions.

Leavitt emphasized that anyone who has spoken with President Trump knows he actively seeks opinions and expects full honesty from his advisors.

Iranian Rejection of Trump’s Claims

On March 23rd, Trump announced a breakthrough in negotiations, but Iranian state media denied any talks with the U.S., claiming Trump’s statements aimed to lower energy prices and buy time for military plans.

Ebrahim Zolfaghari, a spokesperson for the Iranian armed forces, urged Trump not to “present his failure as an agreement” and questioned if internal U.S. conflicts had reached a point where negotiations were occurring internally.
