Major Collision on DW631: Car Torn Apart, Three in Critical Condition

A multi-vehicle crash on Żołnierska Street in Ząbki left three people in critical condition after a ride-share driver’s U-turn triggered a violent chain-reaction accident that split an Audi in two.

The Sequence of the Collision

The incident occurred around 7:40 PM on Żołnierska Street in the Wołomin district. According to preliminary findings, a ride-share driver in a Honda attempted a U-turn from the right lane and collided with an Audi traveling from Nieporęt toward Marsa.

The impact forced the Audi to strike a pole and flip, sending debris into two other Toyotas and a Ford traveling in the opposite direction.

Emergency Rescue Operations

The force of the crash was immense, causing the Audi to disintegrate. One occupant was ejected from the vehicle, while another remained trapped in the wreckage, requiring firefighters to use specialized equipment to free them.

One victim required on-site resuscitation. In total, three people were transported to the hospital: two occupants from the Audi and one from another involved vehicle. All are reported to be in critical condition.

Emergency Response and Traffic Impact

Emergency services, including five fire brigades, five medical rescue teams, and an Air Ambulance helicopter, worked at the scene while police secured the area. Żołnierska Street remains blocked in both directions with disruptions expected to last several hours.

Public Transport Disruptions

The Warsaw Transport Authority (WTP) reported significant delays and route changes for bus lines 199 and 245 due to the accident near the intersection of Piłsudskiego and Szwoleżerów streets.
