Polish President Karol Nawrocki visited Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Texas on Saturday, signing an F-35 fighter jet and addressing US-Poland relations.
F-35 Visit and Contract
President Karol Nawrocki visited Lockheed Martin Aeronautics facilities in Texas, specializing in the production of fifth-generation F-35 multirole fighter jets, which are slated to be stationed at the 32nd Tactical Air Base in Łask by mid-year.
In 2020, Poland signed a $4.6 billion contract for the acquisition of 32 F-35A fighter jets for the Polish Air Force, with Polish pilots and technicians currently undergoing training in the US.
Economic Ties with Texas
Marcin Przydacz, Head of the International Policy Bureau, stated during a press briefing prior to departure for the US, that the American state of Texas has a thriving economy, one of the largest in the US, and could be a significant economic partner for Poland.
Przydacz noted that Texas is a major source of LNG tankers supplying Poland, contributing to the country’s energy security, and discussions regarding energy prices and supplies were planned during the Dallas event.
CPAC Address and Political Commentary
Following the factory visit, Karol Nawrocki attended the CPAC conference, emphasizing the strong ties between Poland and the United States.
He argued that Russia, contrary to its claims, does not defend traditional values, characterizing it as a falsehood and asserting that Russia represents corruption and violence. He also criticized the European Union, stating it “needs rapid reforms,” and expressed concern over bureaucratic decisions and ideological projects that he believes weaken Europe and deviate from Christian civilization.
Nawrocki asserted that Europe and America are strongest when they respect their nations and traditions and listen to their people.
