Another Waste Dump Fire; 50 Firefighters Worked Overnight

A fire broke out Saturday evening at a waste disposal site in Sokołów, near Warsaw, requiring the efforts of 53 firefighters from 17 units.

Fire Breaks Out at Waste Disposal Site

A fire erupted at a waste disposal site on Wacława Street in Sokołów, a town in the Pruszków county near Warsaw, on the evening of Saturday, March 28th. The fire engulfed a pile of waste covering approximately 500 square meters.

The fire department received the report at 10:10 PM. The incident occurred at a waste disposal facility located in Sokołów, within the Michałowice municipality.

Extensive Firefighting Operation

At its peak, 17 fire departments from the county were involved in the firefighting efforts, with a total of 53 firefighters on scene. There were no reports of injuries.

Firefighting operations continued throughout the night and were completed after 6:30 AM on Sunday, March 29th.

Recurring Fires and Illegal Operation Concerns

This is not the first fire to occur at this waste disposal site; multiple fires were reported at the location throughout last year. Environmental inspectors indicate the facility is operating illegally.
