Investigation Concludes, Indictment Filed

The District Prosecutor’s Office in Ostrów Mazowiecka has concluded its investigation into three residents of Wyszków County – aged 23, 21, and 17 – and filed an indictment with the District Court in Ostrołęka regarding a brutal robbery.

The robbery occurred on January 22, 2026, at a commercial premises on Lubiejewska Street in Ostrów Mazowiecka.

Details of the Robbery

Investigators determined the three accused acted jointly and in concert. According to prosecutor Elżbieta Edyta Łukasiewicz, the men are accused of robbery against the victims on January 22, 2026, at the location mentioned above.

The assailants used a gas spray and dispersed butyric acid within the premises. They incapacitated the victims, demanded money, and physically assaulted one woman by tripping her, causing her to fall.

Discovery and Arrests

The incident came to light following reports of a strong chemical odor emanating from the premises on Lubiejewska Street. Police and firefighters responded to the scene.

While no immediate threat to nearby residents was detected, authorities forcibly entered the location, finding no one present. They discovered five illegal gambling machines, several thousand złoty in cash, and butyric acid spilled on the floor, leading to the investigation and subsequent arrests of the three suspects.

Confessions and Potential Penalties

Prosecutor Łukasiewicz stated that two of the accused confessed to the crime, while the third denied the charges. All three face severe penalties under Article 280 § 2 of the Penal Code.

Each accused could face up to 20 years imprisonment if convicted.
