Israeli forces issued a mandate for the unprecedented full evacuation of Gaza’s civilians before a planned large-scale ground offensive against Hamas.
Mass Evacuation Order
On Tuesday, September 9, Israel’s Defense Forces ordered all civilians in Gaza to evacuate immediately due to the impending large-scale ground operation against Hamas. This marks the first time in history that an entire city has been ordered to evacuate.
This comes after Israel’s military allegedly destroyed five high-rise residential buildings in Gaza within the last 72 hours, housing 4,100 people across 209 apartments. Additionally, approximately 3,500 people residing in 350 nearby tents were affected.
Netanhayu’s Statement
In a warning to Gaza residents, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged people to “flee immediately.” Shortly after, Netanyahu announced the demolition of 50 skyscrapers belonging to terrorists as the beginning of the ground operation in Gaza.
