A 33-year-old man attacked two female volunteers collecting donations in central Opola with a knife, demanding their change purses. Both fled and reported the incident, leading to his arrest after a brief pursuit where he injured a police officer and verbally assaulted them.
Attacker’s Jab at Volunteers
33-year-old Marek, along with his 17-year-old accomplice, approached two charity workers in Opola’s center, threatening them with a knife and demanding their donation pouches.
Fleeing and Reporting the Incident
The women managed to escape and notified the police, who swiftly initiated a search for the perpetrators.
Violent Arrest and Incarceration
Officers eventually apprehended the suspects, with the younger one complying with instructions. However, the 33-year-old became aggressive, attempted escape, and injured a female officer during the arrest. He repeatedly verbally abused and spat at the police, agitating them with his behavior. In one moment, he even tried self-harm by suffocating himself with handcuffs.
