Polish Firm Sold Parts for Iranian Shahed Drones, Former CEO Convicted

A Poznan company sold parts that ended up in Iranian Shahed 136 drones, used by Russia in attacks on Ukraine, according to Polish authorities. The former CEO received a suspended prison sentence.

A state-owned company in Poznan, which is part of the Industrial Development Agency, was found to be selling parts that ended up in Shahed 136 drones. These drones are used by Russia in attacks on Ukraine.

CEO Convicted

In February 2023, the prosecution charged Renata S., the former CEO, with trading items, technologies, and services of strategic importance to national security and international peace and security. Three other individuals were also charged. An investigation into the case concluded in December 2022.

Suspended Sentence

The Poznań-Nowe Miasto and Wilda District Court sentenced Renata S. to one year in prison, which was suspended for a two-year probation period. She was also fined 20,000 Polish złoty and ordered to report to the court about her probation period progress.
