Fire Outbreak and Response

On Monday, September 22, around 7:00 PM, a fire erupted at an empty building, likely made of wood, at the intersection of Klimontowska and Błękitna streets in Warsaw’s Wawer district.

The building was quickly engulfed in flames, which spread rapidly. Approximately 10 firefighting units, including a city operational group, were deployed to the scene.

Firefighting Efforts and Safety Measures

Upon arrival, the fire was found to be developed and difficult to control. Firefighters conducted simultaneous firefighting and securing operations to prevent bystanders from approaching the danger zone.

Police closed the intersection for the duration of the operation, and drivers faced disruptions until the scene was cleared.

Damage and Investigation

No casualties have been reported so far, but this may change after firefighters search the premises and debris once the flames are extinguished.

The building’s roof collapsed inward, complicating firefighting efforts. Authorities will investigate the cause of the fire after it is brought under control.
