A strong wind caused a wooden barn to collapse in Ślężany, Wołomin County, Poland, damaging vehicles inside but causing no injuries.
Barn Collapse in Ślężany
A dangerous incident occurred in Ślężany, Wołomin County, due to strong winds. A wooden barn, approximately 30 by 10 meters, was damaged by gusts and collapsed onto equipment inside, including tractors.
The collapse happened in the afternoon. The strong wind affecting parts of the Mazovian Voivodeship caused the agricultural building to fail under the pressure, collapsing onto the equipment sheltered underneath.
The barn contained tractors and other farm equipment. Damage is significant, but no one was injured as no one was in the immediate vicinity during the collapse.

Firefighters and police are on scene securing the area and assessing whether the damaged structure poses a further threat.

The Regional Warning System had issued a strong wind warning for parts of the Mazovian Voivodeship, including Wołomin County. The warning covered wind gusts potentially reaching 85 km/h, with the strongest gusts forecast from around noon and in the afternoon.

As of 2:00 PM, Mazovian firefighters had recorded 315 incidents related to the strong wind. Most interventions involved fallen trees and branches. There were also 20 reports of damaged or torn roofs.

The highest number of interventions were recorded in the area of operation of the KP PSP Mińsk Mazowiecki – 27. Further reports concerned KP PSP Przasnysz – 22, KM PSP m.st. Warsaw – 22, and KP PSP Wyszków – 22. Firefighters in Wołomin County – 19, Siedlce – 18, Sokołów Podlaski – 16, Węgrów – 15, Pułtusk – 13, and Piaseczno – 12 were also busy.
Reports also came from Maków Mazowiecki and Ostrołęka – 11 interventions each, Pruszków – 10, Ciechanów – 9, Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Ostrowi Mazowiecka – 8 each, and from Płońsk, Mława and Kozienice – 7 each. Płock and Otwock recorded 6 incidents each, and the Warsaw West County and Radom – 5 each.
Roof Damage Reports
Among the reports concerning roofs, the most cases were recorded in the Przasnysz County, where 4 roofs were damaged or torn off. Two such incidents were recorded in Ciechanów and Maków Mazowiecki. Single cases were reported in Lipsk, Kozienice, Siedlce, Płock, Wołomin, Przysucha, Płońsk, Ostrołęka, Mińsk Mazowiecki, Sokołów Podlaski, Pułtusk, and Warsaw.
