Officers from the Piaseczno Division for Combating Economic Crime and Corruption seized approximately 200 pairs of shoes bearing illegally applied trademarks within a shopping center in Wólka Kosowska. The estimated value of the goods exceeds 55,000 złoty.
The 38-year-old woman responsible for marking the goods with counterfeit trademarks faces charges under Article 305, paragraphs 1 and 3 of the Act on Industrial Property Rights, potentially resulting in up to 5 years imprisonment.
Ongoing Efforts to Combat Counterfeiting
The Division for Combating Economic Crime and Corruption routinely conducts operations targeting the trade of goods with counterfeit trademarks. This type of crime harms the interests of manufacturers and brand owners.
Officers consistently work to identify and remove illegal goods from the market, monitoring distribution points and securing infringing products, often in collaboration with trademark owners and through detailed analysis of seized items.
Seizure in Lesznowola Municipality
During a search of retail units in the Lesznowola municipality, Piaseczno officers seized nearly 200 items of footwear with counterfeit trademarks of well-known global brands, with a market value exceeding 55,000 złoty.
Chinese National Faces Charges
A 38-year-old Chinese citizen will be held accountable for marking goods with counterfeit trademarks for the purpose of placing them on the market, as per Article 305, paragraphs 1 and 3 of the Act on Industrial Property Rights, making it a consistent source of income. She faces a potential prison sentence of up to 5 years.
Investigation Underway
The case is being conducted under the supervision of the Piaseczno District Prosecutor’s Office.
