CPK Land Sale Sparks Anger: Polish Politicians Denounce ‘Fool’ Who Sold Plot

A 160‑hectare parcel earmarked for Poland’s Central Communication Port (CPK) has become the center of a controversy after lawmakers accuse a buyer of acting recklessly and call for investigations.

MPs Rant Over CPK Land Sale

Law and Justice MP Piotr Gliński criticized the sale of a CPK‑intended parcel, writing, “Thousands of Polish patriots and Law and Justice members lay down their lives for Poland, defend the homeland against Tusk, and yet a fool sold the plot, ruining all that work! No approval was given for this.”

MP Waldemar Buda noted that the purchasing company, Dawtona, had been a sponsor of the Campus Polska Przyszłości program. He urged that those responsible be punished immediately and suggested checking who financed their campaign, asking why the matter has only recently been highlighted by journalists.

Mateusz Morawiecki added that the sellers should face punishment, criticizing Tusk for not acting sooner and expressing suspicion that journalists only now are bringing the case to light.

Tusk Rebuts Claims of Illegal Sale

Donald Tusk responded earlier, stating that “Mateusz Morawiecki always knew how to handle plots, and the Law and Justice minister for CPK, Horła, explained that if one steals, it must be done according to procedures.”

Tusk further warned that the alleged misdeed cited by the weekly *WP* has been under investigation by the prosecutor’s office for months, “Consistent with procedures, of course.”

Minister Kierwiński Defends Decision‑Makers

Marcin Kierwiński, head of the Ministry of Development, said the parcel “will forever symbolize Law and Justice, from Morawiecki to the CPK. It’s a perfect summary of the party’s congress.”

He claimed that suspending party members does not affect the matter, adding that “higher‑up decisions were made, and the case will be explained from the bottom up.”

Kierwiński also characterized the political leadership as plundering Poland, noting that the sale of the 160‑hectare state‑treasury land designated for CPK has been investigated for months and is “just one of many frauds of that administration.”

Party Nixes MPs Over Sale

On Monday, Jarosław Kaczyński suspended the party membership of MPs Robert Telus and Rafał Romanowski following the sale of land from the National Agriculture Support Centre to Dawtona in 2023.

The prosecutor’s office had closed the investigation into the sale of the strategically important parcel for CPK. The land in Grodzisk county was intended to host CPK infrastructure, but in 2023 the Ministry of Agriculture transferred it into private hands.
