On May 7, at approximately 10:30 AM, a fire broke out at a gas connection on Wyspiańskiego Street in Piaseczno. The incident occurred when a gas pipeline was damaged during excavation work carried out by PGE employees, leading to a gas leak and subsequent ignition.

Emergency Response and Medical Aid

Emergency services, including three fire brigades, police, a medical rescue team, and a gas emergency unit, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, responders confirmed the damaged installation and the resulting fire.

One person sustained burns during the incident and was placed under the care of the medical rescue team.

Fire Suppression and Containment

Firefighters focused on securing the site and preventing the fire from spreading. Responders used water to protect nearby vegetation and trees from catching fire.

The fire was successfully extinguished once the gas emergency unit arrived and shut off the supply to the damaged section of the installation. Until that point, services maintained security measures to limit threats to nearby individuals and the surroundings.

Road Closures and Site Security

During the rescue operation, police secured the area, and portions of Wyspiańskiego Street were blocked to traffic. Disruptions were reported in the vicinity of the emergency operations.
