A 28-year-old man died Sunday in Józin, Rybno, after his Opel collided with a BMW and then struck a roadside tree.
Road Accident in Józin
A tragic road accident involving two passenger cars – an Opel Zafira and a BMW – occurred on Sunday, April 19th, in Józin, Rybno commune (Sochaczew county).
The 28-year-old resident of Sochaczew county died at the scene.
Details of the Collision
The accident occurred around 17:45. Preliminary findings indicate that the Opel driver was overtaking the BMW at the time of the collision.
The Opel then overturned and hit a roadside tree.
Rescue Efforts
The 28-year-old Opel driver sustained the most serious injuries and was trapped inside the vehicle.
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to access and extricate him from the wreckage. Medical personnel pronounced him dead after taking over care.
BMW Driver and Investigation
The BMW driver was not under the influence of alcohol.
Firefighters from the State Fire Service in Sochaczew, as well as volunteer firefighters from Cypriany and Rybno, worked at the scene.
Police are investigating the circumstances and exact course of the accident under the supervision of the prosecutor.

This incident in Józin was the second fatal accident this weekend in Sochaczew county.

“A black weekend on the roads of Sochaczew county. Sunday has passed, during which our firefighters intervened 10 times. Unfortunately, one of the events – like Saturday’s cyclist collision – had a tragic outcome.”
“Around a quarter to six in the evening, an accident occurred in Józin (Rybno commune) involving two passenger cars. As a result of the collision, one of the vehicles hit a roadside tree.”
“Firefighters from the Sochaczew State Fire Service, together with volunteers from Cypriany and Rybno, used specialized hydraulic equipment to access the driver trapped in the wreckage. After evacuation, the injured person was handed over to the medical rescue team. Unfortunately, medical personnel confirmed the man’s death. The second driver was not injured.”
“We appeal to all road users to exercise extreme caution and full concentration while driving. A moment of inattention on the road can have irreversible consequences” – informs the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Sochaczew.
