A drunk Indian national driving the wrong way on the S11 expressway in Wielkopolska, Poland, caused a head-on crash Monday around 3 a.m.
Wrong-Way Driver Involved in Crash
Police were called to a two-vehicle collision on the S11 expressway near Dziećmierowo, Kórnik, in the Wielkopolska province around 3 a.m. Monday. The crash occurred on the route towards Poznań.
The driver of a Seat Toledo, an Indian citizen, reportedly entered the expressway driving against traffic and collided head-on with a Volkswagen Crafter.
Driver Found to Be Heavily Intoxicated
The driver and passenger of the Seat Toledo were injured and transported to a hospital. A breathalyzer test revealed the Seat driver had a blood alcohol content exceeding 0.1 percent.
A blood sample was taken for further analysis.
Police Issue Warning About Speeding
Police emphasize that exceeding the speed limit remains a primary cause of serious and fatal road accidents. They are conducting intensive traffic controls and urging drivers to exercise caution and obey traffic laws.
Driver Caught Speeding on S-5 Expressway
On Wednesday, March 25th, police stopped a Skoda driver on the S-5 expressway in the Dolnośląskie province. The driver was observed traveling at 210 km/h in a 120 km/h zone.
Penalty for Excessive Speeding
The Skoda driver received a fine of 2,500 złoty and 15 penalty points on their driving record.
