Magyar Calls for President’s Resignation
Péter Magyar met with the President of Hungary on Wednesday, April 15th. The same day, Magyar wrote on Facebook that Tamás Sulyok “is not worthy” to represent the Hungarian nation as president.
“He is incapable of being a guardian of the law. He is not suitable to be a moral reference point and role model. After the formation of the new government, Tamás Sulyok must immediately leave office,” emphasized the TISZA leader.
President and Magyar Discuss Rule of Law
The President of Hungary stated that it is in the interest of Hungarians to form a new government as quickly as possible, according to weekly magazine “HVG”. Magyar asked the president to voluntarily leave office, for the sake of Hungarian democracy and the rule of law. Sulyok stated that he also cares about actions in accordance with the rule of law.
Hungarian Election Results
The National Election Office of Hungary intends to recount all votes cast in the elections by the end of Saturday, April 18th. Magyar’s Victory Speech
“We did it. TISZA and Hungary won the elections. And not barely, but very. Very, very we won. Together we liberated Hungary,” Magyar said after the announcement of preliminary results. “In history, no party has received such a strong mandate as TISZA. Thank you for approximately 3 million 300 thousand votes. You have given us the mandate to build a homeland for all Hungarians.”
Facebook Post from TISZA Leader
The TISZA leader also published a post on Facebook. “Thank you to all Hungarians in the country and around the world! It is a great honor that you have authorized us with the largest number of votes in history to form a government and work for a free, European, functioning and humane Hungary for the next four years.
