The Law and Justice Political Committee has approved a list of 44 individuals who failed to properly submit declarations regarding external political associations, prompting a sharp reaction from former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
List of 44 Sent to Party Discipline Officer
As announced on Tuesday by PiS spokesperson Rafa艂 Bochenek, the party’s Political Committee officially approved the list of parliamentarians and activists who failed to meet the July 23 deadline for submitting declarations of non-membership in political associations, most notably the “Rozw贸j Plus” association founded by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Rafa艂 Bochenek stated after the party leadership meeting that the 44 individuals on the list include both members of the “Rozw贸j Plus” association and several people who submitted their declarations on the wrong form.
The PiS spokesperson emphasized that referring the cases to the party discipline officer is a statutory requirement that concludes the Political Committee’s stage of proceedings, assuring that each case will be analyzed individually and handled with formal and legal compliance.
Mateusz Morawiecki Responds to Party Decisions
Mateusz Morawiecki, the leader of the “Rozw贸j Plus” association and former prime minister, addressed the Tuesday decisions made by the PiS Political Committee.
The former head of government briefly commented on the development by stating that what was announced following the PiS Political Committee meeting feels like an attempt to drag out a bad TV series.
