Six-Year-Old Girl in Critical Condition After Near-Drowning at Unsupervised Lake

A six-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after being submerged for several minutes at the Moczydło lake in Karczew, Otwock County, on Friday evening.

The Incident at Moczydło Lake

The tragedy occurred around 5:30 PM on the final day of the school year. The child remained underwater for several minutes before being pulled to shore, where resuscitation efforts were immediately initiated.

Emergency Response and Medical Intervention

Emergency services, including the Air Ambulance crew, arrived at the scene. Following a prolonged rescue operation, vital signs were restored, and the girl was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where doctors continue to fight for her life.

Investigation and Safety Warnings

Police and fire services were present at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate the parents were present and sober at the time of the incident. Authorities are currently investigating the specific circumstances of the near-drowning.

Officials are once again urging extreme caution, emphasizing that unsupervised swimming areas pose significant risks. They stress that children should remain under constant adult supervision at all times when near water.
