PiS Leadership Demands Dissolution of Party-Linked Associations

The Law and Justice (PiS) party leadership issued a resolution on July 15, compelling members to resign from politically oriented associations, sparking immediate compliance from Jacek Sasin and defiance from Mateusz Morawiecki.

The Party’s Ultimatum

On July 15, the Law and Justice party spokesperson announced a new resolution requiring members to withdraw from associations engaged in political activities within the party. This directive specifically targets groups such as Mateusz Morawiecki’s “Rozwój Plus” and Jacek Sasin’s “Po pierwsze Polska.”

All PiS parliamentarians and MEPs must submit a formal statement within seven days confirming their resignation from these organizations. Failure to comply will trigger an expulsion procedure managed by the party’s Political Committee.

Sasin Dissolves His Organization

Jacek Sasin announced the termination of his association, “Po pierwsze Polska.” He emphasized his loyalty to the party and its leader, Jarosław Kaczyński, stating that all future initiatives will be integrated directly into the structures of Law and Justice to ensure the unity required to defeat the current government.

Morawiecki Defies the Directive

Despite the party’s ruling, reports indicate that Mateusz Morawiecki does not intend to dissolve “Rozwój Plus.” Sources close to the former prime minister confirmed that his scheduled event, a barbecue in Warsaw on July 31, will proceed as planned.

Morawiecki stated on social media that his association serves as a platform for citizens to discuss the country’s future and safety, reiterating that the organization remains committed to its original objectives rather than retreating into internal political conflicts.

Planned Policy Festival

Leading up to the party’s decision, Morawiecki had promoted a “festival of ideas for Poland” under his association. The July 31 event, titled “Rozwój + Wy,” is set to feature 20 debates and 50 speakers to discuss visions for a modern Polish state.
