Domestic Dispute Escalates to Gas Threat
On Saturday, August 8, at around 3:30 PM, the Siedlce police dispatcher received a call from a 46-year-old woman regarding a domestic disturbance. The information indicated that her 65-year-old, intoxicated husband had started an argument and refused to let her back into the apartment after she stepped outside.
Patrol and intervention officers were dispatched to the scene. Despite repeated attempts, the 65-year-old consistently refused to open the door, and the situation sharply escalated when he threatened to turn on the gas and cause an explosion.
Evacuation and Forced Entry
Due to the imminent danger to residents, the State Fire Service was called to the scene, and a decision was made to evacuate the three-story apartment building, safely leading 38 people outside.
As the danger grew, authorities decided to force entry into the apartment. After breaching the door, officers immediately smelled intense gas, finding the 65-year-old holding a lighter and attempting to ignite it.
